I am a doctoral student in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Chiba University, working in the Maruyama Laboratory. My research focuses on ground disaster prevention, liquefaction, and earthquake engineering, using machine learning and interferometric SAR (InSAR) analysis.
Since 2024, I have been a doctoral fellow under JST's SPRING program (Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by the Next Generation) at Chiba University, working on a project titled "Machine-Learning-Based Prediction of Water Pipeline Damage Caused by Liquefaction."
My work has covered machine-learning prediction of liquefaction-induced ground subsidence, factor analysis using explainable AI (XAI), transfer learning for improved prediction accuracy, and InSAR-based damage assessment of water pipelines after the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake.

Machine-Learning Prediction of Liquefaction-Induced Ground Subsidence
I develop machine-learning models — including gradient-boosting and neural-network approaches — to estimate liquefaction-induced ground subsidence from past earthquake records, soil properties, and boring data. Case studies cover the entire Chiba Prefecture, with transfer learning extending predictions to regions where survey data is scarce.
Factor Analysis via Explainable AI (XAI)
Using techniques such as SHAP values, I quantify and visualize the factors driving liquefaction and ground subsidence, making otherwise black-box machine-learning models interpretable from a geotechnical-engineering perspective.
InSAR-Based Analysis of Earthquake Damage to Infrastructure
Combining interferometric SAR (InSAR) and pixel-offset analysis, I assess ground displacement and water-pipeline damage in Uchinada, Ishikawa, following the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake. By integrating remote sensing with machine learning, I aim to improve wide-area damage assessment and predictive modeling.
